Enter the art tank of Lisa Adams, award winning illustrator, fine artist and art instructor. Using a mix of super realism, collage, naïve drawing, trompe ‘loeil and artist handwriting- Lisa’s unique and original style captivates; coaxes a smile. A regular contributor to mainstream publications for her editorial art, she is also the author/illustrator of the popular holiday children’s picture book, “The Twelve Days of Christmas in New York City” (Sterling Publishers) and the creator of the babyGap teddy bear.  Represented by Diane Birdsall Gallery for her fine art,  Adams’ one woman show, “Obvious” kick-started more exhibits and currently her work with Birdsall is showcased on 1stdibs. She continues to exhibit in juried and curated shows in New York, Connecticut and on various online platforms.


Lisa’s commissions for young adult book cover art and the juvenile educational industry as well as her illustrated portraits for business print reveal a powerful range and ease of cross-over. Nailing Pop-Culture trends, Lisa’s ability to communicate her whimsical sensibilities, capture a likeness and to finally apply this all appropriately- make for a robust visual collection. A graduate of the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY this Vermont born artist currently resides in the sailing port of Mystic, CT.  A former Manhattan resident for 24 years, Lisa juggles her travel, fun and work between both spots. Active with illustration and gallery commissions, Adams also teaches Watercolor Essentials and Nuts & Bolts of Drawing for adults and Drawing & Painting Fundamentals for kids at Mystic Museum of Art.  Lisa is an avid surfer, hearts Rumi and collects little white boats.
